Itinerary
Day 1: Balikpapan - Samarinda - Mahakam
Your adventure begins in Balikpapan, a city with a rich history, transforming from a quiet fishing village built by Bugis people to a bustling port city. Here, you can explore markets brimming with jewelry, gemstones, and picturesque white sandy beaches along the coast.
Upon your arrival at Balikpapan airport, our friendly guide will greet you and escort you to board the houseboat, marking the commencement of your journey along the Mahakam River. Your onboard meals will introduce you to the flavors of Borneo.

Day 2: Muara Muntai - Mancong - Tanjung Isuy - Muara Pahu
Your day begins with a visit to Muara Muntai Wooden village, a place steeped in tradition. From here, embark on a scenic motor canoe ride, crossing the tranquil waters of Jempang Lake to reach Mancong. As you cruise, keep an eye out for the vibrant rainforest and the captivating wildlife along the Ohong creek, where monkeys and birds thrive.
Upon arrival in Mancong, immerse yourself in a traditional ceremony hosted by the Dayak Benuaq, one of the oldest Dayak tribes in East Kalimantan. Later in the afternoon, venture by motor canoe to Tanjung Isuy for a captivating sightseeing tour before returning to your houseboat for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay. Your houseboat will navigate its way to Muara Pahu, your next destination.

Day 3: Muara Pahu - Kedang Pahu River - Mount Bayan - Terbisak - Downstream
Arrive at Muara Pahu and embark on a scenic upstream journey along the Kedang Pahu River via canoe. After approximately an hour, you'll reach Mount Bayan, home to Terbisak Village, renowned for its Dayak Benuaq tribe's longhouses. Here, approximately 100 residents live harmoniously in their community house, practicing age-old traditions of dry rice farming and hunting.
Continue your downstream canoe adventure along the riverbank, where you'll be surrounded by exotic nature and a diverse range of wildlife, including otters, leaf monkeys, endangered proboscis monkeys, and a variety of bird species. The journey then takes you to the delta of the Belowan River, a blackwater peat swamp forest, offering a chance to spot freshwater dolphins in the Kedang Pahu and Bolowan Rivers. Return to your houseboat for an upstream cruise to Melak.

Day 4: Melak - Eheng - Ombau Asa
Upon your arrival in Melak, embark on a Jeep or minibus ride to Eheng, passing through stunning highland landscapes. Here, you'll visit the old longhouses of the Dayak Tunjung, steeped in history and tradition. Afterwards, explore Kersik Luway and the surrounding forest, with a chance to spot the famous black orchid if luck is on your side. In the afternoon, journey to the spectacular Ombau Asa waterfall for a refreshing break before returning to Melak. Board your houseboat and continue downstream to Tenggarong.

Day 5: Tenggarong - Balikpapan
Arrive in Tenggarong, where you'll have the opportunity to visit the former palace of Sultan Kutai Kertanegara. Following your visit, our car will transfer you to Balikpapan airport for your onward flight to your next destination. Sampai Jumpa!
